Al Sadd and Al Duhail both overpowered their second division opponents this evening, storming into the 2020 Amir Cup quarter-finals.
Al Sadd's Abdelkarim Hassan outclassed Al Kharaitiyat from the get-go, putting his side ahead in less than a minute. Two goals from Baghdad Bounedjah in the 26th and 82nd minute ensured that Al Sadd secured their place in the next stage of the competition.
The reigning champion's match against Muaither started slowly, however, three goals in under six minutes, slotted by Han Kwang Song (42', 44') and Almoez Ali (45+1') put Muaither to bed just before half time.
Al Sadd and Al Duhail join Al Sailiya and Al Rayyan, who came out on top in last night's round of 16 fixtures.
Tomorrow, Al Shahania will face Al Wakrah at 4:30pm, before Al Ahli take on Qatar SC at 7pm.
