Luka Modric was named the world’s best male player at the awards ceremony beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohammed Salah, who came in second and third, respectively.
Brazil and Orlando Pride forward Marta won the best female player award, for sixth time in her career. France national team manger Didier Deschamps, whose side beat Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final, was named best men’s coach.
