Abdulla Al Qubaisi clinched the Qatar Superstock 600 title after winning a double in the last round at Losail International Circuit.

Defending QSTK 600 champion, Saeed Al Sulaiti and Al Qubaisi entered the final round with a difference of only six points.

Al Qubaisi won both the thrilling races following a brilliant show to become the new champion.

In the first race, Al Qubaisi and Al Sulaiti were locked in a tight battle before the latter had a problem in the gear paddle in the last three laps. While Al Qubaisi won the race,  Al Sulaiti had to content on the third position, with Mashel Al Naimi securing second place.

Meanwhile, Al Qubaisi started the second race with a gap of only three points against Al Sulaiti so all the pressure was on the defending champion.

Al Sulaiti led most of the race before Al Qubaisi Abdulla made the final move and overtook him to seal the victory. Al Naimi finished third in the second race.

With a total of 213 points, Al Qubaisi was crowned the new QSTK 600 champion.

“I am really really happy with my performance in the whole season,” said Al Qubaisi.

“It was a tough fight with Saeed the whole season, and I didn’t know I was going to win the championship until the last lap,” he added.

“I also want to thank QMMF President, Abdulrahman Al Mannai and LCSC General Manager and Vice President Khalid Al Remaihi for this amazing championship,” said  Al Qubaisi.

Al Sulaiti, who fought until the last race of the season to get his fourth title, said: “Unfortunately, in the first race I lost the gear paddle in the middle of the race and I just tried to minimise the lost and I finished in third place. The second race was one of the strongest ones of the championship, until the last lap we were fighting with Abdulla. In the last lap, heading to corner one we overtook three slow riders but one stayed in the line that altered our race. But at the end of the day, Abdulla deserved the title.”

“I am very proud of him and I feel like his win is a double win for me so I was waiting for this moment since we started training together,” he added.

Al Naimi finished in third place in the standings with 178 points.

“‘It was a very good season, we fought until the end to do the best result. Last two rounds we struggled with the bike and at the end, the championship was decided between Saeed or Abdulla,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the QSTK Trophy, the French rider Jeremy Parola got the title in his category with a great performance during all the rounds.

Parola was on the podium in all the races until the last one, but he already got the title.

Parola, who scored a total of 233 was very happy after his win in his first time racing in the championship

"‘It was very nice to ride here in Qatar, everything was very well organised. It was my first time in the championship and everything was amazing, I enjoyed a lot," said Parola.

Rayad Al Emadi finished second in the QSTK Trophy with 210 points and Hassan Al Mansoori rounded the QSTK Trophy championship in third place.

Trophies were presented by QMMF President Abdulrahman Al Mannai and LCSC Vice President and General Manager Khalid Al Remaihi.
