Qatar Olympic Committee
The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani today attended the Olympic Refuge Foundation (ORF) Annual Board Meeting by videoconference to discuss the progress of the ORF over the last year and the priorities for the year ahead.
The ORF made good progress in 2019 and launched a number of new programmes to support those in need. The ORF also played a critical role in coordinating the formation of a sport coalition of refugees ahead of the Global Refugee Forum.
During the meeting, the Board also discussed the priorities for 2020 and the adjustments that need to be made in light of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The ORF aims to develop activities that ensure the protection of young refugees affected by the COVID-19 crisis, with a focus on the use of sport and promotion of staying active and staying health.
