Qatar Football Federation (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani met Italy’s ambassador to Qatar Alessandro Prunas at QFA’s office yesterday. The meeting was also attended by QFA General Secretary Mansour al-Ansari and Ali Dawood, Executive Director of the President’s office. The QFA president and Prunas spoke about the role of football in promoting relations Qatar and Italy. With Qatar set to host the FIFA World Cup in 2022, the need to share experience and knowledge in the field was also discussed.
The Italian ambassador pointed out that Qatar had taken swift and strong measures to protect the health of its citizens and residents from the coronavirus pandemic. He praised the precautionary measures put in place for resuming football activities in the country. The QFA president presented an official shirt of the national team to the ambassador.
