QFA FAMILY CELEBRATES HISTORIC WIN

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) - headed by President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani - yesterday celebrated Qatar’s Asian Cup victory with a special gathering at the Ritz-Carlton.

The QFA leadership was joined by members and staff of various departments and committees at a luncheon where QFA Vice President, Saud Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi, Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Buainain, Hani Taleb Balan and Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamad Al Thani besides members of the Executive Office of QFA were also present.

The QFA President said yesterday: “Winning the tournament is a dream come true. It was possible because of the hard work of the players, the coach, our team backroom staff and every employee at QFA. I give thanks our players and the coaching staff for their amazing title win.”

He added: “This win will now drive us further. We will continue to work harder and look for even better performances, on and off the field. This will require more efforts from everyone at QFA. We have lofty goals and we will - God Willing - will achieve our targets. This win shows we are on the right track.”

The QFA President said: “We are very happy. We are smiling and we are thankful to God at the same time. I admire the dedication shown by the players and the coaching staff during the tournament. You gave us your best. This will prove a platform through which we will seek greater glory.”

The QFA President added: “Every success comes with sacrifice and hard work. This will give us greater resolve for future assignments of our teams. The benefits of the hard are there for all to see.”

Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communication, said yesterday: “This reception has been organised by QFA under the Chairmanship of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani. This gathering shows and will promote team work in the future also.”

He added: “It is important to sit and aim for higher targets. This is just the beginning. The results we got are truly deserved. I am sure the players will continue to strive and work harder and so will we at our end. The future of Qatar football looks promising.”

QFA official Naji Al Juwaini said: “This is the first time that we have lived through such great moments. We have achieved many title wins but this one feels just great. I applaud the QFA President for guiding us through this era of amazing success. I thank the QFA for this ceremony. This win puts greater responsibility and I am sure we will be up for it.”
