WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: 75 REFEREES GET VAR TRAINING IN DOHA

Women’s World Cup 2019 referees are undergoing training with VARs in Doha at a seminar hosted by Qatar Football Association which will last till February 15, with the participation of 75 referees, including 27 referees, 48 assistant referees, 13 VARs referees, including Qatari international referee Abdulrahman Al Jassim.

The seminar will be followed by three other referees’ conferences, to be held in the coming period under the supervision of Chairman of FIFA’s Referees Committee Pierluigi Collina and Swiss Head of FIFA Refereeing Massimo Busacca, with the participation of the Chairman of the Qatar Referees Committee and Vice-Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee Hani Balan, and the Executive Director of Qatar Football Federation’s Arbitration Department Naji Al Juwaini.

The Executive Director of Qatar Football Federation’s Arbitration Department Naji Al Juwaini, said that he is proud that Qatar is hosting FIFA’s seminars for Women’s World Cup 2019 from February to March, and this affirms the confidence of the FIFA Referees Committee in the country’s preparations capacities, especially as it is the fourth time that Qatar organizes such seminars, pointing out that it has already become a source of happiness and pride for all, and at the same time is a big responsibility.

Al Juwaini added that we thank FIFA for its continued support and confidence in Qatar, and we are honored to have hosted other successful seminars in the past that have been highly acclaimed and praised by FIFA, and we will be happy to host successfully these seminars as well.

He stressed that Qatar’s organization and hosting of these seminars reinforces its international standing on the sport sector, especially before hosting the World Cup in 2022 and also establishes strong ties with FIFA.
