QSFA announce details of the QTS Sealine Challenge 2020

The Qatar Sports for All Federation held a press conference at Al-Hikma Hall of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, during which they announced the details of the launch of the Qatar Trail Series Sealine Challenge 2020 scheduled to begin on November 14, 2020.

The race is the first of the Qatar Trail Series, in partnership with Trails Sports Events and Al Wakrah Hospital on the occasion of the celebration of World Diabetes Day.

Awad Al-Shammari, the coordinator of events and activities at the Sports for All Federation, affirmed that the federation looks to support community participation and encourage sports programs and activities for all, in order to make optimal use to meet the body's need for movement and activity and to raise the level of physical and health fitness with a variety of activities.

The event will take place in Sealine, Qatar and comprise of distances ranging from 3K to 10K.  All events will be run on accurately measured short courses with multiple laps and will be restricted to a maximum of 300 participants.

- 10K Open Male: 6:30 AM.

- 10K Open Female: 6:35 AM.

- 5K Open Male: 6:40 AM.

- 5K Open Female: 6:45 AM.

- 5K Masters Male: 6:55 AM.

- 5K Masters Female: 7:00 AM.

- 3K Open Male: 7:30 AM.

- 3K Open Female: 7:35 AM.

-3K Juniors (11-15): 7:40 AM.

- 3K Juniors (7-10): 7:45 AM.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

- Water Station at the Start / Finish line, 1.5K and 2.5K.

- Race Bib.

- Medical support.

- Course marshals.

- Public liability insurance. 

- Custom designed finisher medal for all distances.

- Awards for the Top 3 Open finishers (Male / Female) in 10K, 5K & 5K. 

- Awards for the Top 3 Masters (Over 40) finishers (Male / Female) in 10K & 5K.

- Awards for the Top 3 Juniors (Age 11-15) finishers (Male / Female) in the 3K.

- Awards for the Top 3 Juniors (Age 7-10) finishers (Male / Female) in the 3K.

On the occasion, Mr. Muhammed Musallam Al-Dossary, Acting Executive Director of Public Relations at Al Wakrah Hospital, indicated that the hospital’s participation in the QTS Sealine Challenge 2020 is within the framework of promoting the concept of sport and health, adding that the participation of Al Wakrah Hospital in the race will be through several stations, where the first station will be devoted to screening diabetes and the second for verification. To the last station, which will focus on correct nutrition methods in order to preserve the health of everyone and make them aware of the concept of sport, the importance of its practice and its impact on a healthy body.

The Qatar Sports for All Federation, in cooperation with Al Wakrah Hospital, are strategically holding the event on World Diabetes Day, which is celebrated on November 14 each year. Along with the race, both organizations will hold several educational and sports activities and seminars to educate about diabetes as well as prevention of diabetes through proper nutrition.
