The European Football Association UEFA announced today that the reforms proposed to be applied in the UEFA Champions League starting from 2024, will not be decided on tomorrow Wednesday, but a decision on the new system will be taken on April 19.

The UEFA said in a statement that its Executive Committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow will witness discussion of the issue, but the final decision will not be taken before the next meeting scheduled for April 19, as discussions are still ongoing.

It is expected that the announcement of the new reforms in the Champions League, which would prevent the idea of establishing a closed championship under the name (European Super League). The big clubs will also be given more matches and guarantees of participation.

One of the possible changes includes increasing the number of participating clubs from 32 to 36 and changing the currently adopted group stage system, which divides clubs into eight groups of four teams. According to the proposed new system, all teams will compete in one group in the league system instead of dividing them into eight groups.

According to the proposed system, the clubs would play a "mini-championship" in one group, with each team playing 10 matches instead of the current six, increasing the overall number of games played, from 125 to 225, with the total number of group-stage matches jumping from 96 to 180.
