Asian champions Qatar are set to take on a local Croatian side in a friendly match to be played today.

Today’s match is part of Al Annabi’s preparations for the next month’s CONCACAF Gold Cup where the Felix Sanchez-coached side will make its debut.

Qatar are currently undergoing a three-week training camp in Rovinj, which is four-hour drive away from Croatian capital Zagreb.

After today’s match, Qatar will take on El Salvador on July 4 in another friendly before wrapping up the training camp on July 6.

The reigning Asian champions, appearing in the Gold Cup as guests, have been placed in Group D, which also includes Honduras, Panama and Grenada. They will take on Panama on July 13 before playing Grenada in their second game on July 17. Qatar’s last match will be against Honduras on July 20, with all their matches being scheduled in Houston.

Qatar will also undergo a week-long training in the US ahead of the Gold Cup.
