Qatar football giants Al Duhail yesterday announced that prominent Portuguese tactician Luis Castro will replace Frenchman Sabri Lamouchi as head coach.
The former Qatar Stars League champions also announced on their website that the former Shakhtar Donetsk coach has signed a one-year deal with the Qatari club.
Castro who was born in September 1961, is considered one of the most successful names in the world of coaching and is the second Portuguese to coach Al Duhail after Rui Faria, who led the team between January of 2019 and January 2020.
Castro, who played a major role as a coach at FC Porto, also guided Rio Ave and Vitoria de Guimaraes to success during his stints.
In the 2019/20 season, under Castro's guidence, Shakhtar Donetsk were crowned champions of Ukraine, and in the following season he finished the National League in the second position.
