Doha, Qatar- Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) has announced the conclusion of a new partnership with Qatar Airways.
Under this partnership, the national carrier will be associated with the annual race meetings and events sponsored by QREC overseas, including the Qatar Goodwood Festival in the UK and the Qatar Prix de lArc de Triomphe in France.
The event also includes the Salon du Cheval Deljadida in Morocco, of which QREC will be the Platinum Sponsor in its 2018 edition to be held in October.
The agreement is part of QREC’s effort to enhance relations with the leading organizations in Qatar in line with the strategy developed by the Board. This will include the international race meetings and events sponsored by QREC overseas.
The partnership with Qatar Airways, in these events, helps QREC realize their objectives worldwide and capitalise on Qatar Airways reputation and standing as a partner of QREC in sponsoring such events.
QREC Chairman, Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, said: “We are delighted with the partnership with Qatar Airways as one of the worlds top airlines.”
“As a matter of fact, the ongoing cooperation between QREC and Qatar Airways in sponsoring horse race meetings will provide the requirements for successful racing events befitting the reputation of Qatar’s equestrian sport. Qatar Airways also contributes with a significant role in the shipping activities for the QREC-sponsored events overseas,” he added.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “Qatar Airways has a long tradition of supporting events which not only demonstrate excellence in sport, but which also showcase our dedication to sport as a means of bringing people together.”
“We are delighted to work in partnership with the QREC and to be associated as Official Airline Partner with major international equestrian events such as the Dublin Horse Show, Qatar Goodwood Festival, Qatar Prix de lArc de Triomphe and the Salon du Chev al,” he added.
