Qatar national team lost to its Portuguese counterpart (3-1) in the match which brought them together at Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen, Hungary, within Group A competitions of the European qualifiers for the World Cup Qatar 2022.
Andre Silva, Otavio Edmilson da Silva Monteiro and Bruno Fernandes scored the goals for Portugal in the 23rd, 24th and 88th minute respectively.
Qatar lost to Serbia (4-0) last Wednesday. The national team still have one more match within the European qualifiers against Luxembourg on Tuesday.
Serbia nosed ahead of Portugal on goal difference with both teams on 10 points from four games, four ahead of third-placed Luxembourg. Ireland and Azerbaijan have one point each after their 1-1 draw in Dublin.
Qatar national team achieved remarkable results in the three first matches in the qualifiers held in March. The national team won over Luxembourg (1-0) and Azerbaijan (2-1) and draw with Ireland (1-1).
