Chairman of the European Club Association (ECA) Nasser Al Khelaifi confirmed that the so-called European Super League (ESL) has been ended thanks to integrity, teamwork and cooperation to protect the interests of all members of the European football community, indicating that these values must be the basis on which the European Club Association is based.

The "not-Super League" was defeated was through integrity, togetherness, and protecting the interests of every member of our European football community. These values need to define the ECA every single day," Nasser Al Khelaifi said in his first major speech as the new head of the ECA in Geneva.

"I will not spend much time talking about 18 April and the 'not-so-Super League' because I do not like to focus on fabulists and failures. Together we defended the interests of European football for everyone," he said in his address to the ECA General Assembly which he chaired today in the presence of UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.

"While the three rebel clubs waste energies, twist narratives and continue to shout at the sky, the rest of us are moving forward," he added.

He stressed the need to meet the challenges currently facing European football, noting that the ECA needs to evolve with a stronger purpose. "We want the ECA to be the heart of European football a purposeful and powerful stakeholder driving the agenda and development of a united European football family."

"We also want the ECA to represent and support more and more European Professional Football Clubs so we truly represent the interests of all," he added, noting the need to repair and strengthen European football by starting with five strategic priorities, namely the financial stability of European football, stronger ECA relationships, meaningful ECA member-benefits, diversity and inclusion reflecting all of Europe, and renewed ECA/European football spirit and values.

"If all of us continue to work together with integrity, fully committed to our ideals, fully committed to each other as fellow clubs, and fully committed to the ECA, then European football can only flourish," Nasser Al Khelaifi concluded.
