The fifth edition of S’hail — the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition — continues at Katara, drawing a large number of visitors including  ambassadors and dignitaries. 

H E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani; Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces H E Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim; and several ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar visited the exhibition yesterday. 

H E Alessandro Prunas, Ambassador of Italy; H E Mariano Segura Avila, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica; and H E Chyngyz Eshimbekov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic also attended the event yesterday.

Since its inception in 2017 as the most prominent global event specialised in hunting and falcons, the exhibition has wowed visitors and participants alike. Hosted by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), S’hail has attracted 160 local, Arab and international companies representing 18 countries from around the world, offering the latest types of weaponry, equipment, and products for hunting, camping, and safaris.

Mohammed bin Abdul Latif Al Misnad, Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the exhibition, said: “S’hail has become the most prominent annual event awaited by lovers of hunting and camping. It has become the preferred destination for falconers from Qatar, the region, and various countries of the world, meeting in one place to exchange experiences, knowledge, and expertise and to make deals along with the exhibition’s role in spreading and preserving the heritage of hunting and culture.”

He stated that S’hail brings together the largest international companies specialising in catering to hunters’ needs with high-quality products at acceptable prices. 

He added that the exhibition has become an annual trade platform, attracting falconers and safari lovers, offering wide and multiple options to acquire the latest weapons, hunting, and camping equipment made according to best specifications besides spreading the culture of fishing and its values for the awareness of the new generation.

The S’hail auction on the first day of the fifth edition achieved the highest price of QR140,000 won by Thamer Khamis Aman Jaber Al Mohammed.

Dr. Farouk Al Ajli will deliver a lecture today on the Qatar Falcon Genome Project in Building 15 of the Katara Cultural Village from 6.30pm to 7pm.
