Second Edition of Integrity in Sports Week 2021 Kicks Off

In a state of remarkable interest especially on social media platforms, the second edition of the Sport Integrity Week 2021 kicked off on Monday. The initiative is proposed and organized by the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), the world's largest sports integrity coalition. 

Extends till Friday, Sep. 17, the event aims to promote the adoption and implementation of the highest integrity standards at all levels and across all areas of sport. 

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Organization for Integrity in Sport (SIGA) Franco Frattini and CEO of the International Organization Emmanuel Medeirios, delivered opening speeches in which they presented the work map for the second edition of Integrity in Sports Week 2021. 

Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of (SIGA) and founder of the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) Mohamed bin Hanzab and President of the Spanish Professional League (La Liga) Javier Tebas also spoke in the event. 

The first day witnessed a discussion on the European Super League (which was suspended by UEFA and FIFA) in which CEO of (SIGA) Emmanuel Medeiros, CEO of the Dutch Leagues, President of the European Professional Football League Klaus Thomsen, and CEO of Advocates of Football in Europe Ronan Evain, President of Serie A, Paolo Dal Pino and UEFA Deputy General Secretary and Director of Football Giorgio Marchetti participated.  On the issue of the Sports governance, anti-corruption and international co-operation in sport, Frattini said, "I strongly say that our responsibility is great, especially after the world's response to SIGA's message. Now it is time to raise the voice of law, and (SIGA) has made a great path in the field of public principles, standards and governance."  Mohammed bin Hanzab stressed in his opening speech to the Sports Integrity Week, the full commitment to protecting global sport, which faces enormous challenges these days.  Bin Hanzab said that he is proud of SIGA's achievements and the professional initiatives it offers in the field of integrity in sport. "There is no doubt that the Sports Integrity Week has become a global platform to review developments in the field of integrity in sport and to develop solutions by specialists and sports affiliates from around the world" he added. 

President of the Spanish Football League (La Liga), Javier Tebas, said that since taking over the presidency of the League in April 2013, he feels that the time has come to work with (SIGA) to collectively protect integrity in sport and especially in football around the world.
