Carrying out one of the programs on its social responsibility charter, the Qatar Football Association (QFA) distributed 2000 sterile school bags and stationery to students of 10 primary schools across the country.

The latest QFA initiative coincided with students returning to schools following a lengthy summer break of almost three months.

The QFA reaching out to schools this month is an extension of past exercises where the country’s football ruling body has continued to enhance its successful partnership with academic institutions.

This year’s initiative – titled “Back to School” – is expected to assist young students in becoming aware of healthy living through sports. School administrations also take an active part in QFA initiatives.

QFA’s gifts were distributed at the following schools: Al Salam Primary School for Girls, Al Khor Primary School for Girls, Al Shaqab Primary School for Girls, Somaya Primary School for Girls, Al Bayan First Primary School for Girls, Al Manar Model Schools for Boys, Al Khor Model School for Boys, and Al Quds Model School for Boys Al-Wukair Model for Boys, and Othman Bin Affan Model for Boys.

While leading the QFA initiative, Mrs Noora Al Tamimi, Head of the Social Responsibility Department – working under the aegis of QFA’s Marketing and Communications Department – expressed her delight at the start of the new academic year across the country.

“The Qatar Football Association pays great attention to programs directed to the well-being of students across schools in the country. “Koora Time”, “Friends of the QFA in Schools” program, the “Schools League” competition are some of the initiatives in which schoolchildren actively take part,” Mrs Al Tamimi said.

“The return to school celebration came differently this year, per the MOPH guidelines being followed across the country. Because of the COVID-19 threat, we are all keen on keeping our children safe and aware of the dangers we could face.

“Through our initiatives, we are keen on strengthening our community partnerships with schools and children. QFA continues to reach out to all communities living in Qatar,” she concluded.
