Doha, Qatar- Rihab Al Nasser, owned by Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser al-Thani’s Al Nasser Stud, won the Mares Championship gold at the All Nations Cup Arabian horse show in Aachen, Germany, on Saturday.

Rihab Al Nasser made it to the championship round with a second-place finish in the class for ‘11-year-old and older mares’ and later favour from three judges in the championship round to win the gold.

Rihab Al Nasser, who claimed 18 points, beat Pustynia Kahila and Galerida for the championship gold.

Sheikh Nawaf was present during the prize distribution ceremony and received the gold medal.

This is the second successive championship success for Al Nasser Stud after Anood Al Nasser topped last year’s edition with 19 points for gold.

On Saturday, during the preliminary round, Rihab Al Nasser had gathered 92.38 points to finish second behind Etnologia (93.19).

Rihab Al Nasser has twice won silver in the championship round at Arabian horse shows in Qatar, including at the Qatar International Arabian Horse Show in February this year, and at the Qatar National Purebred Arabian Horse Show in December 2016.

Sheikh Nawaf was delighted with the win and praised the trainers at Al Nasser Stud after the victory, which came about despite intense competition.

He said that Al Nasser Stud takes care that their breeding quality is in line with the top reputation enjoyed by Qatar in the field.

He added that the victory only adds to the responsibility to continue shining with good results at top level competitions across the world.

Sheikh Nawaf said that not only was it a great achievement but also that playing of the Qatari national anthem after the victory was a moment of pride.
