Veteran rider Saeed Al Sulaiti extended his overall lead at the Qatar Superstock 600 (QSTK600) championship after the third round yesterday. At the Losail International Circuit, Al Sulaiti won race 1 before finishing runner-up in the second race.
In the first race, Al Sulaiti was a dominant winner as he took the chequered flag 11.094 seconds ahead of Mashel Al Naimi. Abdulla Al Qubaisi was third. All three riders were on the wheels of Yamaha YZF-R6.

Al Sulaiti, however, faced stiff resistance from his younger rivals in race 2, with his championship rival Al Qubaisi taking the victory in a thrilling battle. Al Naimi had to settle for third spot. With three more rounds to go, Al Sulaiti has 120 points, 19 more than Al Qubaisi.
In the Qatar Touring Car Championship, Ghanim Al Madheed and Abdulla Al Khelaifi won Race 1 and 2 respectively. Overall leader Al Khelaifi did not start in the first race and Al Madheed, who is 19 points behind in the championship race, took full advantage to cruise to an easy victory. Ibrahim Al Abdulghani came second followed by Nasser Al Ahbabi.
Al Khelaifi was back in action in the second race and the experienced driver claimed an easy victory in his Honda S2000. Ahmed Al Asiri in the Honda Civic was +16.612 behind the winner, with Ahmad Shaheen Al Muhannadi coming third.
