Qatar’s Al Muhannadi, UAE’s Al Balooshi clinch QORC titles

Qatar’s Ahmed Al Muhannadi and co-driver Mubarak Al Khelaifi topped the podium in the final round to clinch the 2021 Qatar Off Road Championship (QORC) title after a six grueling rounds. The Qatari duo completed the race in three hours and 29.33 secs in their CANAM to add 56 points to lift his tally to 135 at the end of six rounds.

Kuwaiti driver Abdulaziz Albshayer and his navigator Martin Chalmers finished 24 secs behind the winner as they finished second in the final round as well as the Championship standings.

Qatar’s Ahmed Allouh and Tamer Hijazeen came third in the final round, and completed the top three in the Championship points table.

In two wheelers, Mohammed Al Balooshi won the sixth round in 3 Hours, 40 minutes and 43 seconds to secure the championship title with 124 points. The Emirati Al Balooshi and his closest rival in the title race – Abdullah Al Shutti were level on points (74) ahead of the final round, but the Kuwaiti motocross champion failed to impress in the sixth round and finished in the eighth spot. Al Shutti only gained 16 points in the final round as he signed off at the second spot in the Championship standings with 90 points.

South African rider Michael Anderson came third in the final standings after managing to book a podium spot in the sixth round.

Al Balooshi’s MX Ride Dubai team-mate Sultan Al Balooshi finished second in the sixth round and sealed the fourth spot in the standings.
