Qatar's 2022 ExxonMobil Open Promotional Activities Launched

The Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) and ExxonMobil Qatar have announced the launch of a series of promotional activities, ahead of the 2022 Qatar ExxonMobil Open Tennis tournament, which will be hosted by the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, from Feb. 14 to 19.

Entertainment activities will be held on the sidelines of the tournament in special pavilions in Villaggio, Doha Festival City and Souq Waqif, these pavilions were designed to highlight ExxonMobil's campaign this year, which aims to raise awareness of sustainability on the sidelines of this year's tournament.

Secretary-General of the Qatar Tennis Federation, Tariq Zainal, Qatar ExxonMobil Open tournament Director, Karim Al Alami, and, Vice President and Director of Government and Public Affairs at ExxonMobil, Saleh bin Saad Al Mana, participated in the official launch ceremony of the promotional activities for the tournament this week at Doha Festival City, Qatar.


The tournament pavilions provide an opportunity for the public to participate in recreational and educational activities and competitions aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues and encouraging individuals to adopt healthy lifestyles, the promotional activities accompanying this year's edition of the tournament will witness three competitions for ExxonMobil Qatar followers on Twitter and Instagram.

QTF Board Member and Tournament Director Karim Al Alami, commented: "The partnership between Qatar Tennis Federation and ExxonMobil is an example of what can be accomplished when two organizations share a mutual respect, Qatar has always been a major supporter of sustainability efforts in the region, and we are proud to present our sustainability activities that will help us organize the Qatar ExxonMobil Open as an environmentally friendly tournament, with the launch of todays events in Doha Festival City, we have taken the first step in making the upcoming Qatar ExxonMobil Open a more sustainable tournament."

For his part, Saleh bin Saad Al Mana expressed his happiness with the launch of promotional activities for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2022 with the Qatar Tennis Federation.

Al Mana said: "We have been keen to plan all these activities with the aim of highlighting the wonderful tournament that we present in Qatar every year, and shedding light on Qatar's position as a prestigious global destination for hosting major sporting events, we also aim to raise awareness about important sustainability issues globally, and emphasize our commitment to dealing with these issues, and helping to advance the sustainability strategy in the State of Qatar."

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open is one of two tournaments in the Middle East for the ATP World Tour and has been selected as the tournament of the year in the ATP 250 World Tour tournaments on four occasions in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021.

This year's edition of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open will see a number of the world's most prominent tennis players compete to win the tournament trophy and cash prize, the participation of Andy Murray, Gael Monfils, Roberto Bautista Agut and Karan Khachanov has been confirmed.
