In a commanding display, Qatar triumphed over Singapore 3-0 in the opening match of the AFC U20 Asian Cup Group J at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium. The hosts wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Ibrahim Mohammadali scoring the first goal in spectacular fashion. In the 8th minute, Mohammadali launched a powerful strike from outside the box, leaving Singapore's goalkeeper with no chance.

Qatar continued to pile on the pressure, and their second goal came in the 20th minute when Mohamed Khaled Gouda found the back of the net. Gouda made the most of a defensive lapse, slotting the ball past the keeper, doubling Qatar’s lead. Singapore struggled to recover, as they were unable to find any rhythm or counter the high-intensity pressing of Qatar throughout the first half.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Qatar's fluid gameplay continuing to trouble Singapore. Just nine minutes into the second half, midfielder Bassam Adel Eid sealed the victory for Qatar with a clinical finish in the 54th minute, making it 3-0. Singapore, despite a few moments of hope, couldn’t mount a serious comeback as Qatar held firm and controlled possession.

The emphatic win gives Qatar a strong start in their quest for qualification, while Singapore will need to regroup after a difficult first outing.

Jordan Crushes Hong Kong 7-0

Over at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, Jordan put on a masterclass performance, dismantling Hong Kong 7-0 in another Group J match. After a series of missed chances early on, Jordan finally broke the deadlock in the 37th minute. Forward Odeh Burhan Fakhoury opened the scoring with a composed finish, setting the tone for what was to follow.

Just five minutes into the first goal Jordan doubled their lead when Mahmoud Mohammad Theeb found the back of the net in the 47th minute, further denting Hong Kong's hopes of a comeback. Things went from bad to worse for Hong Kong as Abdelrahman Alkhdour netted the third goal shortly after, leaving their defense in disarray.

Jordan didn’t let up and continued to exploit Hong Kong’s weaknesses. Ibrahim Mohammad Sabra added a fourth goal in the 51st minute, followed by Omar Khader Joo in the 60th minute to make it 5-0. Jordan’s relentless attack didn’t stop there, as Mohammad Ahmed Taha and Anas Ashraf Alkhob completed the rout with goals in the 80th and 90th minutes, respectively.
