Mohammed Yousef Al Jaber Triumphs in the Opening Round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour

Mohammed Yousef Al Jaber claimed victory in the Small Tour during the opening leg of the 8th edition of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour 2024-25, which kicked off at the Qatar Equestrian & Modern Pentathlon Federation’s indoor arena. This prestigious domestic equestrian series will feature 14 rounds, concluding in May 2025. The best seven performances throughout the season will determine overall champions across various categories in showjumping and dressage.

Al Jaber, riding Al Shaqab’s Serendipity, delivered an outstanding performance, finishing the 110cm event in a flawless 45.14 seconds. Close behind, Abdulla Hasan Al Emadi on Dino BB Z finished in second place with a time of 46.64 seconds, while Saeed Hamad Jumaa and Ambre De Beaufour secured third, clocking in at 46.68 seconds.

Earlier in the day, Abdulla Khalifa Al Suwaidi won the Future Riders 80cm (ages 12 to 16) event aboard Fiero. Ahmed Mahmoud Alarroqui came in second riding Janne, with Mohammed Salem Al Naemi securing third place on Cascade Sammy.

The competition kicked off with the Future Riders 60cm (ages 6 to 12) category, where Fahad bin Nasser Al Thani took first place riding Sita with a time of 42.46 seconds. Nasser Hamad Al Thani and Coco Chanel SB finished second, while Hissa Ali Jaber, riding Al Shaqab’s Tinkerbell, claimed third.

The event continues today with riders in the Amateur and Medium Tour categories starting their campaigns, while dressage competitions and the first rounds of the Open Class and Big Tour begin tomorrow.

Longines Hathab Deputy Event Director, Faisal Al Kahla, presented the trophies to the Small Tour winners, with Mohammed Yousef Al Jaber taking first, followed by Abdulla Hassan Al Emadi and Saeed Hamad Jumaa.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Nooh Al Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, expressed his enthusiasm for the new season, noting the Qatar Equestrian & Modern Pentathlon Federation’s commitment to elevating riders’ skills and preparing them for international competitions. He highlighted the expected increase in participants this year and the hard work of tournament committees, which promises an exciting and competitive season ahead.
