Experienced rider Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi achieved an impressive double victory, taking first place in both the Big Tour and Open Class events during the opening round of the eighth season of the Longines Hathab Tour at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s Indoor Arena.
Competing on his 16-year-old horse, Morocco, Al Qadi executed two flawless routines in the Big Tour (Table A, Special two phases, Art. 274.2.5 | 145cm), finishing in a swift 30.98 seconds to claim victory. This win earned him a prize of QR29,000.
Not far behind, fellow Qatari rider Hamad Nasser Al Qadi, riding Stella, completed the course in 31.92 seconds, securing QR23,000 for his excellent performance.
Cyriane Cherif also had a strong showing, finishing third on Van Gallettana Z with a time of 32.50 seconds, which earned her QR18,000. She later secured fourth place on Triple T Calamando Blue, adding QR12,500 to her winnings.
Nasser Al Ghazali rounded out the top five with his horse Dexter, finishing with a time of 33.73 seconds despite incurring five faults during his rounds.
In the Open Class event, which featured a single round against the clock, 36 competitors vied for the top spot. Al Qadi demonstrated his prowess on Chanel D’Altenbach, finishing in 47.53 seconds without any faults, which netted him QR6,250.
Hamad Towaim Al Marri followed closely with his 16-year-old stallion Famous, clocking in at 49.90 seconds, also with no errors, earning QR5,000. Hamad Nasser Al Qadi placed third riding Happy Tina, completing the course in 50.56 seconds and winning QR3,750.
Tournament Director Faisal Al Kahla commended the riders for their performances over the three-day event, stating, “The season kicked off successfully, showcasing thrilling action and well-prepared riders. We look forward to more exciting competitions in the upcoming rounds.”
