As the second day of the 2024 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe approaches today at ParisLongchamp, Qatar's influence in this prestigious race is undeniable as Look De Vega owned by Al Shaqab Racing will be vying for the win. 

The 2,400-meter race, widely regarded as Europe's most important flat race, offers a purse of €5 million and attracts the world's top jockeys, horses, and equestrian enthusiasts coming from 50 nationalities. Also, present on day one and crowned the winners were HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al-Thani CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation, HE Issa bin Mohammed Al-Mohannadi QREC Chairman, Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah President of the Asian Equestrian Federation and QREC Vice Chairman, Dr. Ghanim bin Mubarak Al-Ali Assistant Undersecretary of Culture Affairs of the Ministry of Culture, Ahmed bin Mohammed Alabdulmalik QREC Board Member, Abdulla Rashid Al-Kubaisi, QREC Racing Manager and Ahmed Amanalla Al-Sheebani, Director of QREC Support Services Department.


The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe has not only been rated the world’s best horse race on 5 occasions, but it is also the race with the highest prize money in the French racing calendar.

Qatar’s Growing Impact

Since 2008, Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) has been sponsoring the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which has now become one of the richest turf horse races, globally. Know as the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, this esteemed flat race has been held at ParisLongchamp Racecourse since 1920. Moreover, only the world’s best horses are admitted to compete for this coveted trophy. The QREC is dedicated to promoting Qatar not only as a world-class sports hub but also as a leader in horse welfare. 

Apart from the race, several events organized by Qatar's Ministry of Culture will take place for spectators and racegoers to interact with the Qatari culture and traditions. These include a raffle draw by Visit Qatar with a one-trip prize for two people on a business class and five-night accommodation in a five-star hotel. All spectators at ParisLongchamp are welcome to participate and the winner will be announced today during the event.
