The Arabian horse show season, both national and international, will begin with the 4th Qatar Arabian Breeders Cup at Al Shaqab's indoor arena from October 24 to 26.

This three-day event is specifically for Qatari breeders, where the owner must also be the horse's breeder. It is recognized by the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO) and categorized as a Breeders Show. More than 150 horses will be featured, promising an impressive display.

Horses will compete in various classes, with the top five receiving medals, and those finishing in the top three qualifying for the championships in categories such as colts, fillies, mares, and stallions.

Over the course of the event, nine judges, four disciplinary committee members, and two ringmasters from around the world will oversee the proceedings. According to the rules, horses competing in Breeders shows are not eligible for the World Championship, Title shows, A shows, or the Global Champions Arabians Tour (GCAT) shows.

Qatar Arabian Horse Show for Local Bred

Following the Breeders Cup, the Qatar Arabian Horse Show for Local Bred will take place on October 27 and 28 at the same venue.

This show is dedicated to horses bred and born in Qatar, giving local breeders and their horses a platform to compete. It is classified as a C National category show and is also recognized by ECAHO.

Around 100 horses are expected to participate, with the top five in each class receiving medals, and the top three qualifying for championships. Horses finishing first will be eligible for Title and GCAT Shows, while the top three can qualify for an A show.

For two days, eight judges, a disciplinary committee, and two ringmasters will officiate. Horses that have won gold or silver at World Championship, Title, A Show, or GCAT events are barred from competing in a C National show for the rest of that year and the next two years, unless they transition from a yearling to junior or junior to senior category.

12 Shows in the Season

QREC has recently announced the full schedule for the show season, which will include a total of 12 national and international shows. QREC’s goal is to enhance the impact of these events, capitalizing on Qatar’s leadership in organizing horse shows and its strong performances in recent years.

These achievements have established Qatar as a global leader in horse shows, especially in prestigious events such as the annual World Championship and other notable competitions across the US, Europe, and Arab countries.
