Al Rayyan star striker and Qatar National team player Abdulaziz Hatem has announced that he will reduce his monthly pay due to the current public health scenario.

“Given the current circumstances that the world is going through due to the Corona pandemic, I announce on my personal initiative the reduction in my monthly salary,” the club tweeted a statement from the player.

Currently, all sporting activities including football leagues are suspended in the country due to spread coronavirus (Covid19).

“And my doing so stems from my feeling of responsibility in front of the requirements of the status quo and my appreciation to the officials and those in charge of sport, and I hope that this pandemic will disappear and sports activity will return in different countries of the world,” the player added.

The initiative was launched by Hassan Al-Haydus, player for Al-Sadd club Qatar national team, and was then followed by goalkeeper Saad Al-Dossary, fellow teammate Abdul Karim Hassan, Al-Rayyan's Abdul Aziz Hatim and Al Gharafa's Mahdi Ali.
